Is it possible for a human male to make love to a tree?
Songgu Kwon 22nd Oct 2015, 4:31 PM edit delete reply
Songgu Kwon
Yes, it is possible. But advisable? No. :o

It's okay if you remember to check for squirrels first.

You hear that guys? That's solid advice. And always protect your nuts. This goes for dudes and squirrels. Be safe out there.

But the joke says that guys who lose their virginity to trees later kick women in the butt, exactly because they learned to scare the squirrel away first.

If you find a squirrel in your butt, consult a doctor... like a zoologist!

“What happened instead was that the tree fell in love with him and began to murmur fondly of the joy to be found in the eternal embrace of a red oak. "Always, always," it sighed, "faithful beyond any man's deserving. I will keep the color of your eyes when no other in the world remembers your name. There is no immortality but a tree's love.”

Objection, my lord! The Sergeant of Law didn't ask the tree lady to point out the sneaky murdering sumbitch who just dived headlong out the window! I move that her finger be stricken from the scrolls!

WHO CAN IT BE?!

Seems like somebody knows a little too much about what happened.

At the time of the murders, where were you, SONGGU KWON?!?
Songgu Kwon 22nd Oct 2015, 8:22 PM edit delete reply
Songgu Kwon
Why, I was just here at my drawing table. I have multiple alibis and character witnesses.

Your avatar is interesting. Opossums are stealthy creatures of the night, no? It's as though someone here is particularly interested in sneaking around in the dark. So I ask you...

What were YOU up to during the evening of the murders, PHARPHACIDE?!?!

I've been trying to understand how you manage to get away with large areas of black so successfully (whereas I have been quite unsuccessful at it lol). One thing I've noticed is that you often break up the blacks with white/grey textures (though if you take out the greys your ink work still reads pretty well). Any tips for getting better at using black areas? BTW I signed up for the Gnomon program full time, been learning a ton in just a couple of weeks.
Songgu Kwon 23rd Oct 2015, 1:52 AM edit delete reply
Songgu Kwon
I think the key to using black in your composition is to NOT try to make a "realistic" rendering of your scene with black. You have to accept the fact that it's perfectly okay to use black in a completely nonsensical, "graphical" way with the sole intent of creating bold contrast on your page so the scene reads faster and clearer. I still struggle with it every time.

Good move on upping the classes at Gnomon. They have a solid program.

I started reviewing past pages to see if I could pick up on clues as to who it might be, but I got distracted by page #157 when Feingor makes his appearance.

Distracted, I say, by the freakin' awesome, evil looking cohorts walking in behind him (and the bats, the bats were a nice touch). The dude with the prosthetic nose and the eye patch is cracking me up.

Needless to say, I have know idea who it is.

(p.s., there's a word for tree love...but ima let everybody figure it out themselves - beware what you Google!)
Songgu Kwon 24th Oct 2015, 8:43 AM edit delete reply
Songgu Kwon
Too bad Feingor's cohorts didn't get to see any action this time. Maybe they'll return in a future tale.

And you're right. Dendrophilia is a thing. Yup, one can never underestimate the range and scope of stuff that people get off on. If there's a thing that exists, someone out there is having sex with it! :O

How about a Holly four barrel carburetor?
Or a package of liver?
Or a mathematical equation?
...
Snicker..
Songgu Kwon 27th Oct 2015, 8:43 PM edit delete reply
Songgu Kwon
Okay, so a carburetor is pretty hard to have sex with but I'll bet it's a turn on for some of those gear heads out there.

Package of liver... hasn't everyone done it with a package of liver at one time or another? Right? Guys? Right?

Math? You gotta be REALLY weird to get all hot & bothered over numbers. Preverts.

No. Some mysteries are just too mysterious. However, those familiar with traditional folklore regarding elves may have read of accounts of time passing quite differently for humans who dwell in the realms of the magic folk. An evening in enchanted company could translate into many years in the realm of men. ;)
