OK. I consider you and your people to be sword experts. What is your opinion about the below linked Hanwei Practical Katana?

Looking for an economical practical Katana.
Thanks

Ha ha, that's funny. I'm in the middle of selling off my sword collection to raise funds for shipping my books out to my kickstarter backers!

my sword sale

The Hanwei PK has some of the qualities of a proper katana, such as a differentially hardened blade but suffers from synthetic hilt matrials such as the plastic "samegawa" and synth ito.

Plus it has a very thin and rather delicate blade. What are you looking for in your katana? Good looks? Good handling? Cutting performance? All of the above?

I want it to be durable and functional for home self defense. Lol
I am positive you have a blade that meets those needs. Lol
In other words, "all of the above"
