Thanks! I actually have a hard time wrapping my brain around how braids look. I end up with a sort of sloppy impression. I'll keep practicing and get it right, by gum!

So it was a dream, brilliant. At least things make more sense now. Phew.

My dreams tend to get a bit dark so waking up is usually a relief. Righto, back to the quest!

It was more like a Freddy Kruger dream...not the kind you would want to have more than once!!

The detail in the last panel is so amazing!

The last panel was an amazing pain to draw!

I say this over and over again - healing potions, healing potions, healing potions. Using those in conjunction with a Towelette of Everwiping to clean the blood off works wonders. Also. love the Skyrim gate. Great work as always Gu.

Or even better, rig some sort of hands free dispensing system so one could steadily sip on healing potions through a straw while engaged in combat.

Scott Adams, of Dilbert, said once that soccer balls were incredibly difficult to draw. Hadn't thought of braids.

If the dream is to integrate into the longer story arc, it will either prefigure future events somehow, or reflect what we later learn about Pieter's past. We'll see.

So is this just a wine dream then?

I just took a look at your blog. You got one hell of an art education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. With that, and your natural talent, it makes you an amazing artist, not to mention story teller. Your mind must be flying at a mile a minute. Creativity on fire.
Songgu Kwon 13th Jan 2013, 2:19 PM edit delete reply
Songgu Kwon
No, there's no fire. I keep my creativity in one of those rubber squeeze coin purse thingys that old people have and dole it out as needed for comics making and such. :P

Katangar did make a disclaimer in strip #1. His appearance in the dream underscores his importance, and thus probably foreshadows his future, face to face encounter with our heroes. That, or he will sick his lawyer on them.
Songgu Kwon 13th Jan 2013, 2:28 PM edit delete reply

In this realm, Katagnar is super famous and is considered the greatest living warrior, destined to become immortal through legend and song as the greatest hero of the age. He's way too famous to have dealings with the likes of elf & company. ;)

So maybe the dream of the Elf's victory over Katangar foreshadows her victory over his lawyer in court, dressed in a wombat suit.

Please, never simplify your comic for us dumb people.

It's wrong to be so literal-minded in interpreting a dream. The Elf defeating Katangar while dressed in a wombat suit could represent the wombat having finished law school and passed the bar before deciding to become an adventurer instead (much to his parents' disappointment), then successfully representing her in court against Katangar's lawyer.

I would love to see him in mortal combat with Larry H. Parker, accident - injury attorney, who's really a 20th level Lich with a Staff of the Magi and the Hand of Vecna.

Whoa. That's a bit out of wombat lawyer's league. He's used to simple cases involving stuff like conflicting burrow rights, compensation for stolen seeds & roots, defense against lawsuits filed by predator animals who were injured while foolishly pursuing a wombat into his/her burrow... etc.

Awesome site. Not sure whether practicing law would fall under the D&D skill of Arcana, Deception, Intimidate, or Thievery.
