She operates on the principle of the so called "cootie catcher".

She is also a distant cousin of the xorn. The difference is that she has a taste for sweet fruits and sweet wine and can foretell the future with 99% accuracy.

Like Jeopardy.

We knows the answer.

But...what was the question?

Songgu Kwon
Ah yes, the question should be revealed about 3 pages later me thinks.

Unholy smokes! Its been a LONG time since Ive seen a Xorn, and never one who didn't just mindlessly stomp around.

I think I might need to make proper use of the creature in a game. Perhaps as the ever mysterious 'Charlie' sending his 'Angels' on far reaching quests for his coin collection.

Or he could operate a 'Cash for Gold' flop shack in their favorite city... oh my, I am having inspriagasm!

Inspriagasm. Heh heh. Yeah, the Xorn is a pretty cool monster but I don't recall ever using one or meeting one in a game. It can supposedly move through earth as easily as a fish moves through water. Now, that's impressive!

It must be mesmerizing to see her talk with 4-jawed mouth!

Yeah, and all the while, snarfing down food & drink. No high marks for good table manners!

Comic noir. French critics called expressionistic American crime dramas film noir in reference to the often mostly black (noir) screen. Another hallmark was high contrast lighting, and this episode has a fair amount of chiaroscuro.

That looks like Kneeflayer in the last caption. Durgo presumably won it in the fight where he lost his eye. Then Blackfeather's brother won it in a card game? Or maybe it's just bad form to consult a fortune teller armed.

The other adventurers appear to be waiting for Durgo while he consults the fortune teller. They haven't decided on something, and Blackfeather appears to be the answer to their question.

Kneeflayer is an arming sword with a 31" long blade and a 4.5" long grip, (not including pommel) meant to be used with one hand. If you look closely, Durgo has such a sword in panel 2.

Blackfeather's brother's sword in the last panel is a longsword or "war sword" with a 35" long blade and 8" long grip meant primarily for two handed use, though it's still quite handy with just one.

It would be pretty typical of Durgo to lose his sword in a bet considering his impulsive nature. ;)

That is really well written; especially where Blackfeather is saying nothing.

Tanks! I agree that the empty spaces between words are just as informative as words.
